MESSAGE FROM BILL WILSON, Trustee, Stephen G. Shore Recovery Trust:
Hi Everyone!
It's hard to believe that April is almost over, but that means that May is just around the corner, so...
...to paraphrase someone famous, get a sitter, pack a toothbrush... because we are looking forward to seeing you on MAY 22 at BLEACHERS in BRISTOL for this year's only Steve Shore Recovery Trust event, called REMEMBERING STEVE.
For the first time ever, Steve Shore's solo cd, I'M NOT SORRY will be available for purchase. Jamie Collazo and Brad Fisher, along with Papo Collazo and other members of Steve's family have made it their collective labor of love to see this through. And the result is amazing!
Doors open at 7:30PM and there are no pre-sales for tickets. And this is a night you won't want to miss.
at 8 PM the movie, Remembering Steve will play.
at 8:30PM we will say our hellos and Grace Shore will explain the cause we are fighting to help in Steve's name. This is an especially meaningful cause, not only because it is obviously a great choice, but also because it is Grace's choice. She spent a lot of time thinking about what would be a fitting purpose to drive the SSRT army for this year, and she found it. So, make sure you get there on time to hear all about it.
We are honored to have THE MACS performing. Bruce and Elise MacPherson are wonderful, as demonstrated at the SSRT dinner last year. Bruce's show-biz accomplishments are top notch and watching him perform, while Elise lends her awesome voice to some great classic music will be very uplifting!
STEPPIN' OUT will be performing a set of great music. They were the back line and part of the frontline at last year's concert at Ultimate Billiards. Troy Slocum and the gang will keep you fully entertained.
LAST LICKS, Gray Fowler, Joe Santucci and I will be joined by Remo Capello on bass. We also welcome John Sarra and Steve Kmiec, along with Troy Slocum, and Bruce MacPherson to join in on our set as we hope to make the night a very special one!
We have an ACOUSTIC SET that Papo Collazo and I have been working out, which will feature other members of our musical family within SSRT. Rob Sachs (who toured with the New Kids on the Block), Elise and Bruce MacPherson, Papo and I and others.
In our JAM BAND segment, we will introduce the STEVE SHORE ALL STARS, which features Steve's longtime friend, Jack Sonni, who played in Dire Straits. Jack will be playing a few songs for you that night and you will not be disappointed! BURT TEAGUE will be playing in that set as well. Burt is a CT. legend and is someone that people still talk about today in a most admiring way. We thank Burt for joining us and I'm sure you'll be thrilled. MICHAEL SOLAK, who played with Steve in CRYER (he also played in EYES) will be singing that night, too. Mike's got one of the cooler voices on the stage, so it's going to be great.
Capping off the night will be OREO. PAPO, FRANK, and PAUL will be welcoming Craig Garfinkel on the bass guitar, and you can rest assured that they will be one tight band that will get it done right!
Besides the bands, there will be drawings and prizes, including a beautiful acoustic guitar that we'll get all the musicians of the evening to sign for the lucky winner!
In closing, I want to encourage you to come to this event this year. There are so few things we can do that will bring the kind of love and warmth that this show promises to deliver. While all the musicians center around being close friends, and band mates to our brother Steve Shore, this cause, in his name, is now reaching out to do good work for others. We really want to make a difference in the lives of other people and in your life for that one night. So, drop whatever is in your way and make it out to this show on May 22. The cover is a minimum donation of $5, which will all go to the trust and Grace's focus, which is now our focus, too.
I can't wait to see you, so let's make it that night!
Your Friend,
Bill Wilson,
Trustee,
SSRT
